OPEN MEMBERSHIP MEETING
We are holding an open membership meeting at the Tiverton Public Library on Saturday, April 11th at 10 AM. If you are a member, we need you there! If you aren’t a member, but wonder what we’re doing, we need you there! Planned events for this year, open discussion of ideas for events, officer and board of directors nominations, and volunteer opportunities are among topics needed to be addressed. We need volunteers for docents (tour guides), building maintenance, website and social media, archiving, and . . .
If you like history and want to help your local historical society do more, especially in the 250th year of our independence, please come and join us! We can’t do this special year justice without your help!

RHODE ISLAND INDEPENDENCE DAY PRESENTATION
Did you know that Rhode Island declared its independence from England two months BEFORE the other colonies? Do you know why? Find out about the smallest state in the Union’s founding, her four founders, and what led up to the final straw that made her break with the mother country 250 years ago. THS Outreach & Education Director Susan Anderson will present the case for Rhode Island’s Independence at the Tiverton Public Library on April 29th at 6:30 PM. Come and learn the rest of the story!
